GDK TO ENTER IRELAND

German Doner Kebab (GDK), the globally acclaimed Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) brand known for its innovative menu and redefining the kebab experience, is thrilled to announce it will shortly be introducing the award-winning brand to the Ireland. The first location is expected to open in Liffey Valley Dublin before the end of the year, marking the beginning of a nationwide expansion.

GDK has signed a Master Franchise Agreement with the Strava Group who have who have committed to opening 30 stores across Ireland over the next 10 years. 

GDK has set out to redefine the kebab experience whilst building an exciting Gen-Z focussed brand rooted in music, sport, and popular culture. GDK has developed an extensive menu of fresh-to-order products featuring premium lean meats, unique toasted waffle bread, and handmade signature sauces, such as the Boss Box, OG Kebab, and the Gym Box. 

Backed by True and Hero Brands the company is poised to accelerate growth in the UK and abroad.

In recent years, GDK has taken its “Kebabs. Done Right” mission to the world, allowing everyone to enjoy a premium, authentic, and culturally relevant doner kebab experience. As of July 2025, there are over 170 GDK restaurants throughout the UK, Sweden, North America, and the Middle East.

The Liffey Valley restaurant is set to feature GDK’s signature modern design, blending sleek, urban interiors with a welcoming atmosphere, and offering dine-in, takeaway, and delivery options to cater to all customer needs.

With this launch, GDK and Strava Group aim to not only expand the brand’s footprint but also contribute to local employment, creating over 25 jobs in the first location alone and significantly more as additional restaurants open across the country.
